The Desert Lily’s Commitment to Our Guests and Staff as we Navigate Through Coronavirus 


The wellbeing of our guests and staff members remains our highest priority. We will continue to update this page with the latest information regarding booking flexibility, changes at the Inn, travel safety and resources. 


Breakfast – Communal breakfast for guests of the B&B has been temporarily suspended. Instead, breakfast will be provided “to-go” upon request, or served individually at a private table outside your room to maintain social distancing. 


Weddings – Updated September 12, 2020:  

Gatherings unless otherwise specified are not permitted across the state of California until further guidance is issued by the California Department of Public Health.  


Travel Flexibility – We continue to make adjustments on reservation modifications and cancellations to provide our guests with as much flexibility as possible as travel remains restricted in many parts of the world. 


Cancellation Policy – The Desert Lily is a small, off-the-beaten-path property. For this reason you are responsible for the entire amount of your reservation if you cancel after 14 days prior to your first night of lodging. If the room can be re-rented, you will receive a refund for the number of days of the re-rental. If I am not able to re-rent the room, you will receive a credit for the amount of your cancellation fee, restrictions apply. 

Trip Insurance – Please consider purchasing trip insurance to protect yourself in the event of sickness, serious illness, injury, family emergencies, missed or canceled flights, hurricanes, lost luggage, sick pets, wildfires, super storms, floods, lost passport/ID, work emergency, aging parents, evacuations, etc. These companies are recommended:

Health and Hygiene – Exceptional standards of cleanliness have always been extremely important to us. But during these uncertain times, we want to assure you that we are taking every reasonable precaution to promote a safe and healthy environment for our guests and staff. 


We are closely monitoring the guidance of the World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention regarding the spread of the virus.  Our focus is to ensure we meet our guest needs while doing our part to keep you, our staff, and our communities safe. 


Cleaning/Sanitizing procedures – Guest rooms and cabins are cleaned and sanitized thoroughly after each stay.  We are paying particular attention to high-touch areas, to include, key pads, public areas, door handles, locks and latches, light switches, surfaces, and remote controls. There is heightened sanitizing and more frequent attention to our common areas, such as the greatroom/guest lounge area.   


In addition, we are asking guests and staff members to stay home if you are not feeling well. If you have any of the COVID-19 symptoms or flu-like symptoms, please stay at home and seek appropriate medical help. Avoid passing it to others. We will be happy to help with rebooking your stay or helping you cancel.
